Adult Swim Lessons in Marin County
Strength. Skill. Confidence. At Any Age.
There’s something powerful about learning—or relearning—a new skill as an adult. Swimming is one of the few sports that offers real growth at any stage of life. Whether you're starting from scratch, overcoming past discomfort, or refining technique to become faster and more efficient, the pool is a place where progress is always possible.
I help adults build confidence in the water while focusing on technique that works with your body—not against it. Swimming is the best low-impact sport for long-term joint health, supporting knee, hip, and back muscles without the wear and tear of land-based cardio. It improves cardiovascular fitness, builds strength, and enhances mobility—making it an ideal lifelong form of exercise.
Why Swim? Health Benefits for Adults
Full-body, low-impact cardio that protects joints while improving endurance
Strengthens core and stabilizer muscles, promoting better posture and alignment
Boosts cardiovascular health, lowering the risk of heart disease and improving circulation
Supports mental wellness, reducing stress and increasing focus
Enhances flexibility and mobility, especially for those recovering from injury or managing chronic pain
What I Teach
Many adult swimmers get frustrated when they feel like they’re working hard but not getting faster—or staying afloat without feeling relaxed. I break swimming down into simple, teachable fundamentals:
How to position your body for natural buoyancy and efficiency
Breathing techniques that make swimming feel sustainable, not exhausting
Stroke refinement to help you move through the water with less effort and more control
Flip turn fundamentals, often underestimated but incredibly effective for continuous, productive cardiovascular training in the pool
Whether you’re learning to swim for the first time, training for a triathlon, or refining technique for lifelong fitness, I meet you where you are and help you build real, lasting progress.
How I Coach
Lessons are fully customized to your goals and comfort level. I use visual cues, real-time corrections, and progressive drills that help you learn faster and feel the results. Sessions are private or semi-private, with direct feedback from an experienced coach who understands both the competitive and recreational sides of adult swimming.
Where I Teach
I offer adult swim lessons throughout Marin County, including Mill Valley, Corte Madera, San Rafael, Novato, Sausalito, Terra Linda, and beyond. Lessons are held at partner pools, private residential pools, or designated lanes, depending on availability.
